Contemporary Portraits

This body of work is exploring the abstraction of the human form and their environments in amicable yet nonexistent settings. These pieces blur the boundary between foreground and background, often incorporating cubist motifs to play with perspective while maintaining life-like value to push depth in these distorted settings. Dimension plays an important role, given that my figures are always confined to their environments—whether it’s a cowboy in the desert, a clown at the circus, or a pianist at a a jazz club These figures interact with their surroundings, reflecting how identity can be shaped by place and circumstance.
